The Ventures Lab: Welcoming Nick Murray to The Ventures Lab

Welcoming Nick Murray to The Ventures Lab

We’re pleased to welcome Nick Murray as our new Head of Ecosystem Partnerships at The Ventures Lab.

Nick joins the team at an important stage in our journey as we continue to strengthen how impact-led ventures connect, collaborate and grow within Scotland’s wider business ecosystem.

Strengthening Ecosystem Connections

His role will focus on building strong, practical relationships across the ecosystem, helping the ventures we support access meaningful partnership opportunities with organisations that are actively looking to work with impact-led businesses.

This includes engagement with public sector organisations, commercial partners, support agencies and wider ecosystem stakeholders who can help ventures scale their impact and commercial potential.

Scotland has a strong and growing ecosystem for founders, but navigating it can often be complex. Nick brings valuable experience in connecting people, opportunities and organisations in ways that create long-term value for ventures and founders alike.

Supporting Long-Term Venture Growth

Nick will play a key role in strengthening how our ventures engage with the wider ecosystem, helping founders access the networks, collaborations and commercial relationships that can support sustainable growth and long-term impact.

Commenting on Nick joining the team, Venture Support Director Angie Lee said:

“Nick brings a strong understanding of how Scotland’s business support ecosystem operates and, importantly, how meaningful relationships and partnerships can create real opportunities for founders. As we continue to grow The Ventures Lab, his experience and collaborative approach will help strengthen the connections available to the ventures we support and open up exciting opportunities across the wider ecosystem.”

Building Meaningful Ecosystem Support

This appointment marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for The Ventures Lab, with further developments and announcements planned over the coming months as we continue to expand the ways we support founders and strengthen the wider impact ecosystem.

Commenting on joining The Ventures Lab, Nick Murray said:

“Through my work supporting high-growth founders across Scotland and internationally, I’ve seen first-hand that positive ecosystem intervention isn’t about adding more noise, but about providing the right support, at the right time, in a way that genuinely moves a venture forward. Having someone in your corner who understands both your strengths and your gaps, and can offer hands-on but empowering support, can make a critical difference. That’s how we build ventures that are not only commercially strong, but capable of delivering meaningful, lasting impact.”

We’re excited to have Nick on board and look forward to the work ahead.
