yattle is a recruitment technology platform built for young people, tackling a structural mismatch in the youth employment market. Employers have entry-level roles but often struggle to attract and retain young people due to outdated job descriptions, inaccessible platforms and poor engagement. At the same time, many young people lack awareness of opportunities, struggle with confidence and are overwhelmed by recruitment processes that do not speak their language.
Co-developed with more than 40 stakeholders including schools, colleges, employers and employability services across Glasgow, yattle bridges that gap. The platform combines an AI-powered mobile app for young people that simplifies job discovery and application with a web portal for employers to post roles, manage recruitment and access analytics. It also integrates with schools, colleges and third-sector organisations, while supporting wraparound employability services such as mentoring and rewards. yattle was developed by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and Glasgow City Council, with support from the Glasgow Futures Partnership, in response to concerns raised by Chamber members and the Glasgow Employment and Skills Board about the growing challenge of engaging young people through traditional recruitment methods. Designed to scale beyond Glasgow, yattle aims to become a platform for the next generation of talent.
