The Ventures Lab: Our New Website

The Ventures Lab Launches New Website to Champion Impact Ventures and Unlock New Opportunities

The Ventures Lab has officially launched its new website, marking a significant step forward in how it showcases, supports and connects impact-led ventures across Scotland. Designed as a platform to elevate the stories, challenges and successes of mission-driven founders, the new site reflects a growing ambition to help reshape the role of investment in tackling real-world problems.

Supporting Impact-Led Ventures

At its core, the website has been built to shine a light on ventures working to improve outcomes for people and planet, while also highlighting the need for more accessible and flexible forms of impact investment.

Alix Foreman, recently appointed as Marketing and Communications Manager at The Ventures Lab, has led the development of the new platform as part of a wider communications strategy.

“The launch of the new Ventures Lab website marks a key milestone in our commitment to showcasing the need for greater impact investment in Scotland and beyond. We want the website to be a place that proudly promotes the incredible work and passion displayed by our ventures and their mission to improve outcomes for people and planet.”

New Tools and Features for Founders

The new website introduces a range of features designed to better support founders and engage partners. One of the most significant additions is The Ventures Lab’s Impact Diagnostic Tool.

This tool allows ventures to assess their impact potential and alignment, helping determine their readiness for investment and support. By focusing on measurable impact, the tool reinforces The Ventures Lab’s commitment to backing ventures that can demonstrate meaningful change.

Visitors to the site can also explore the growing portfolio of ventures supported by The Ventures Lab, including organisations such as Insect Café, Pure Water, Edinburgh Remakery and Everybody Counts. Together, these ventures have already secured £700,000 in investment during the first year of the pilot programme, demonstrating the strength of the model and the appetite for impact-led solutions.

Strengthening Partnerships Across the Ecosystem

Importantly, this website launch represents phase one of a broader development roadmap. A number of new features and functions are already underway, aimed at deepening engagement across the ecosystem and unlocking new forms of collaboration.

Among these is a new partnerships function, which will offer businesses the opportunity to work directly with impact ventures. Through this, organisations will be able to provide support on a pro bono or discounted basis, helping ventures access the expertise and services they need to grow while creating meaningful social and environmental value.

Nick Murray, Head of Ecosystem Partnerships at The Ventures Lab, is leading on this work.

“Strong partnerships are critical to building a thriving impact ecosystem. This new function will make it easier for businesses to contribute their skills and resources in a way that directly supports ventures tackling some of the most pressing challenges they face. It is about creating meaningful connections that benefit both sides and accelerate impact.”

Expanding Communication and Engagement

The launch of the website also coincides with the introduction of The Ventures Lab’s new monthly newsletter. As part of the organisation’s wider communications strategy, the newsletter will provide updates on supported ventures, insights into impact investment and opportunities to get involved.

You can sign up for the newsletter in our footer.

Looking Ahead

Together, these developments signal a clear direction of travel for The Ventures Lab. By combining stronger storytelling, practical tools and new opportunities for collaboration, the organisation is positioning itself at the heart of Scotland’s growing impact ecosystem.

This is just the beginning, with further enhancements already in progress as The Ventures Lab continues to build a platform that not only supports ventures, but actively drives the change they are working to achieve.
